On Saturday, January 14, 2024, the first ever Cool As Ice Gala was held at the recently opened historic Niagara Parks Power Station, which encompasses the Tunnel, the restored water tunnel leading to amazing close-up views of the colourful illuminated roaring waters of the Natural Wonder of the World’s Niagara Falls. In addition to the famous liquid gold ice wines, gala goers were given the opportunity to taste the top Niagara area vineyards’ most prestigious wines and the best Niagara chefs’ culinary delights. All this while the glamorous partiers were enjoying the pristinely-restored historic Niagara Parks Power Station while being entertained by orchestral music and acrobatic performances. As part of the Niagara Ice Wine Festival, gala attendees could bundle their ticket with a Weekend Passport Pass, allowing 6 ice wine-food pairings at different wineries in the Niagara region. Top wineries Inniskillin, Peller Estates, Jackson Triggs, Trius, Wayne Gretzky Estates, Vineland and 13th Street were among the many wineries participating. The Niagara Ice Wine Festival continues on weekends until the end of January.
