Legendary architect Frank Lloyd-Wright’s FallingWater House, near Pittsburgh, is an architectural masterpiece, incorporating nature as one with a house built over a waterfall in the secluded forest.
Pittsburgh, the Steel Town, has beautifully arisen from its polluted industrialized past to become a swan among bridges over its many steel bridges. Especially mesmerizing is the night view of the city from high above perched on Mount Washington. Another highlight is the Andy Warhol Museum, celebrating the Pop Artist native of Pittsburgh.
Washington DC, with its Roman-Empire-inspired architecture and city plan, has the grandeur to match its many monuments, such as the Washington Monument, Lincoln Monument, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, and Jefferson Memorial. While dismantling the barricades in case of post-election rioting and preparing for the annual Veterans Day Parade, Washington DC, workers allowed people to enjoy the Smithsonian National Museums, such as the National Gallery of Art, National Portrait Gallery, and the National Museum of American History. Surprisingly, despite the cool November weather, cherry blossoms were present on cherry trees next to the Washington Monument.
The “Enjoy Diversity” neon sign in the window of the Arthur Erickson-designed Canadian Embassy was a welcome sign to see while strolling through the streets of Washington DC.
Along with the spectacular natural wonder of the world, Niagara Falls, a 600 metre wide waterfalls straddling the Canadian-USA border, the Niagara region boasts the world-class Albright-Knox Gallery, in Buffalo, with its many modern art masterpieces.
